Minor in East Asian Languages
Required Courses
Students may minor in Chinese, Japanese, or Korean language. A minimum of 15 credit hours is required for the minor, and must include 9 credit hours at the 300–400 level from a combination of language and culture classes, distributed as follows:
- A minimum of 14 credit hours must be completed in the chosen language, including completion of the third year of language.
- The remaining (1–3) credit hours may be earned either by completing an approved culture studies course related to the chosen language, by completing an additional language course, or by meeting the requirements for special credit in the chosen language.
- At least 6 credit hours must be completed in course work within the Department of East Asian Languages and Cultures (excluding special credit).
Note: Students can receive only one minor in the Department of East Asian Languages and Cultures and may not receive both a major and a minor within the department.
