Major in Classical Civilization: Art and Archaeology
Purpose
The B.A. Major in Classical Civilization: Art and Archaeology offers students with little or no knowledge of the Greek and Latin languages the opportunity to study the Greek and Roman cultures from which much of our literature and thought and many of our institutions come.
Required Courses
Students must complete a minimum of 30 credit hours, including the following:
- C206.
- One of the following: C308, C310, C311, C350, C351, C360, C361.
- C494 or H494.
- 12 credit hours of specialized course work chosen from the following: C396, C412, C413, C414, C416, C419, C420, C421, C422, C423, or any of the courses cross-listed under Art and Archaeology.
- 9 credit hours of additional course work chosen from:
- C396, C412, C413, C414, C416, C419, C420, C421, C422, C423, or any of the courses cross-listed under Art and Archaeology.
- Any course(s) in Greek.
- Any course(s) in Latin at L200 or above (but not L300).
- C101, C102, C205.
Students must also complete the degree requirements of the College of Arts and Sciences.
