License Additions

Theatre

At the core of IU School of Education secondary license addition theatre education is the belief that theatre has the power to change lives. Students are challenged to continually develop their own artistic voice while gaining the knowledge and skill set to teach, inspire, and foster the growth of the next generation of young theatre artists. Students completing this license addition will be qualified to teach theatre and drama in grades 5-12.

  • EDUC-Z 204 Applied Theatre (3 cr.)
  • EDUC-Z 305 Theatre for Young Audiences (3 cr.)
  • EDUC-Z 402 Youth Theatre Tour (3 cr.) AND EDUC-M 403 Field Experience (2 cr.)
  • EDUC-M 484 Methods and Materials for Teaching Theatre and Drama with Young Adolescents (3 cr.)
  • EDUC-M 470 Student Teaching Practicum (6 cr.)
