Bachelor of Science in Education/World Language-German
The IU Bloomington School of Education offers a Bachelor of Science in Education/World Language Education. The World Language Education program provides coursework and field experiences to prepare future teachers to meet the needs of students in today's schools. The program is designed to prepare teacher education candidates to teach children in preschool through twelfth grade.
In an increasingly interconnected world, skills as a foreign language teacher are critically needed.
Coursework will combine extensive foreign language study with a strong grounding in education theory, instructional methodologies, and professional development.
Students develop a deeper understanding of how people acquire and process language as they learn to teach elementary and secondary language students. And students will understand the broader social, cultural, and geopolitical contexts of multilingualism.
