Bachelor of Science in Education: Early Childhood Education (Transfer Single Articulation Pathway)
Transfer Single Articulation Pathway (TSAP) is aprogram that allows students to seamlessly transfer from a two-year community college, like Ivy Tech Community College, to a four-year university, like Indiana University Bloomington, with junior standing. This means completing a TSAP program at a community college guarantees that the coursework will be accepted as the first two years of a bachelor's degree program at the four-year university.
The IU Bloomington School of Education offers a Bachelor of Science in Education/Early Childhood Education via TSAP. This program leads to dual Indiana state teaching licenses for teaching young children in infant/toddler and preschool settings or K–3rd grade classrooms and prepares teachers for inclusive settings, with students taking a concentration of coursework in early intervention and special education. Students will gain invaluable practice through field experiences and student teaching with children who represent a diversity of cultures, ethnicities and abilities.
Early Childhood candidates are generalists. They take a variety of professional foundation courses, and methods courses to meet the content areas taught in the preschool and grades K-3.
