Speech and Hearing Sciences
General Speech and Hearing Major—B.A.
This major is for students who are seeking a broad liberal arts and sciences education that centers on the processes of communication and its disorders, and not necessarily to pursue a clinical career in the field.
Required Courses
Students must complete the degree requirements of the College of Arts and Sciences and the following:
- At least 36 credit hours in SPHS courses including at least 18 hours at the 300–400 level.
- SPHS-S 110 or S215.
- SPHS-S 111, S201 and S275.
- SPHS-S 311 and S333.
- 18 additional credit hours from the following Speech and Hearing Sciences courses. Only one 200-level course will count for this requirement: A250, S302, S307, S375, S420, S436, S444, S445, S473, S478.
