Due to significant content overlap, many combinations of degrees, majors, and minors are not permitted.  The following rules prohibit specific combinations.

Impermissible Double Major Combinations:

• No student can double major in Exercise Science and Fitness & Wellness.
• No student can double major in Dietetics and Nutrition Science.
• No student can double major in Human Development and Family Studies and Youth Development.

Impermissible Major/Minor Combinations:

• A minor may not be earned that has the exact same title as the student's major.
• Community Health cannot be combined with the following SPH-B minors:
  • Public Health
• Dietetics cannot be combined with the following minors:
  • Nutrition
• Environmental Health cannot be combined with the following minors:
  • Environmental Health
  • Public Health
• Epidemiology cannot be combined with the following minors:
  • Epidemiology
  • Public Health
• Exercise Science cannot be combined with the following minors:
  • Exercise Science
  • Kinesiology
• Fitness and Wellness cannot be combined with the following minors:
  
  • Exercise Science
  • Fitness Instruction
  • Kinesiology
  • Public Health
• Human Development and Family Studies cannot be combined with the following minors:
  • Human Development and Family Studies
• Nutrition Science cannot be combined with the following minors:
  • Nutrition
• Parks, Recreation, & the Outdoors cannot be combined with the following minors:
  • Outdoor Recreation, Parks, and Human Ecology
• Recreational Therapy does not currently have any impermissible minor combinations.
• Safety cannot be combined with the following minors:
  • Safety
• Sexual and Reproductive Health cannot be combined with the following minors:
  • Public Health
  • Human Sexuality???
• Sport Marketing & Management cannot be combined with the following minors:
  • Kinesiology
  • Sport, Marketing and Management
• Tourism, Hospitality, and Event Management cannot be combined with the following minors:
  • Event Planning
  • Hospitality Services
  • Tourism, Hospitality, and Event Management
• Youth Development cannot be combined with the following minors:
  • Youth Development

 The following rules apply to students who have earned a degree:

• No student may earn the same degree more than once, even if it has a different major.
• No student may earn a degree with a major, and then come back after the degree is awarded and add a second major or a minor.
