Political Science
Minor in Political Science
Requirements
Students must complete the following:
- A total of 18 credit hours in political science, of which at least 9 credits must be at the 300 or 400 level.
- At least two courses in one of the following blocks of courses and at least one course from one of the other two blocks:
- American politics, public policy, law, and administration (Y301–Y321, Y324–Y326, Y329, Y349, Y373, Y394)
- Comparative politics or international relations (Y332–Y348, Y350–Y372, Y374–Y376, Y399, Y407)
- Political theory and methodology (Y379, Y381–Y388, Y395, Y405, Y406)
- Only 3 hours of credit in X476 and X477 may be counted toward the minor.
- At least 9 credit hours of the above courses must be taken in residence on the Bloomington campus.
- In fulfilling the above requirements, students must also meet all other College requirements for minors.
- Students who complete the Major in Political Science may not also complete this minor.
- Students may complete up to two minors offered by the Department of Political Science as long as distinct courses are used for each (See the Policy on Counting a Course toward Multiple Degree Objectives).
