Food Institute
Introduction
The mission of the Food Institute is to promote innovative research, education, and public outreach on multidisciplinary approaches to food and foodways. The Food Institute supports collaborative efforts within the College and across the university, providing space and generating funding for innovative projects that contribute to IU's leadership role in the rapidly growing and evolving interdiscipline of food studies. The Food Institute comprises a faculty research and graduate training component together with the IU Food Project which emphasizes the development of undergraduate education and experiential learning opportunities. Both the research and teaching aims of the Food Institute engage and collaborate with our vibrant local and campus food communities. The IU Food Institute is dedicated to addressing the pressing human and environmental challenges of providing both sustaining and sustainable food for a changing planet.
