Germanic Studies

Minor in German
Requirements

Students must complete at least 15 credit hours of Germanic Studies courses, including the College's requirements for minors, and the following:

  1. Language Proficiency. Complete at least one (1) of the following:
    • GER-G 250 Intermediate German II
    • GER-G 300 Fifth-Semester College German
    • GER-G 330 Sixth-Semester College German
    • GER-G 400 Advanced College German
  2. Gateway Course. Complete at least one (1) of the following:
    • GER-G 332 Introduction to German Literature and Media
    • GER-G 334 Introduction to German Thought and Culture
  3. Advanced Electives. Complete additional Germanic Studies courses at or above the 300 level to fulfill remaining requirements for the minor, including the College's requirements for minors.
  4. German Language Requirement. At least 12 credit hours of courses used for requirements 1–3 above must be taught in German.
