Minor in East Asian Languages
Requirements
Students may minor in Chinese, Japanese, or Korean language. A minimum of 15 credit hours is required for the minor, and must include 9 credit hours at the 300–400 level from a combination of language and culture classes, distributed as follows:
- Completion of the third year or higher in the chosen language.
- Remaining credit hours may be met by further study in the chosen language or related culture coursework from the East Asian Culture Courses list.
- At least 6 credit hours must be completed in coursework within the Department of East Asian Languages and Cultures (excluding special credit).
Note: Students can receive only one minor in the Department of East Asian Languages and Cultures and may not receive both a major and a minor within the department. In fulfilling the above requirements, students must also meet all other College requirements for minors.
