Degree Requirements

Bachelor of Arts in Journalism (B.A.J.)

As of July 1, 2014, the School of Journalism will become the Department of Journalism in the College of Arts and Sciences. This move is a first step in the launch of The Media School at Indiana University. Entering freshmen and continuing undergraduate students interested in pursuing a major or certificate in the field of journalism will have the opportunity to follow current degree requirements and other academic policies for the Bachelor of Arts in Journalism (B.A.J.) and the Certificate in Journalism as published in the IU Journalism Undergraduate Bulletin 2014-2015. In the future, continuing students will also have the opportunity to adopt degree requirements for a number of newly developed, innovative and interdisciplinary academic programs designed by the faculty of The Media School (as drawn from the departments of Journalism, Telecommunications, and Communication and Culture).
