Undergraduate Academic Programs
Admission
Prospective Students
Students who seek admission as a first-year beginner (freshman) or transfer applicant must apply through the Indiana University Bloomington Office of Admissions. If you are admitted to IU Bloomington and indicate a major in the School of Public Health-Bloomington, you will begin your studies in your intended major of interest at the start of your first year. For more detailed information, see our website’s How to Apply page.
Current Students
If you are currently enrolled at IU Bloomington and want to pursue a School of Public Health-Bloomington major, contact the School of Public Health Advising Office.
Returning Students
Students admitted in degree-seeking status who have been away from IU Bloomington and did not enroll in the most recent Fall or Spring academic term should contact the School of Public Health Advising Office at sphadvr@iu.edu.
Second Bachelor’s Degree
There are two types of second degrees: concurrent and sequential. A concurrent degree is one earned simultaneously with a first degree. A sequential degree is one earned after a first degree (at IU Bloomington or elsewhere).
Questions about pursuing a concurrent degree should be directed to sphadvr@iu.edu. If you are a current School of Public Health-Bloomington student and want to complete a concurrent degree in another IU Bloomington school, you should meet with an academic advisor from that school to learn more.
Students interested in pursuing a sequential bachelor’s degree are encouraged to explore graduate work in their desired area of interest. Sequential bachelor’s degree requests are evaluated by faculty on a case-by-case basis. Questions about pursuing a sequential degree should be directed to sphgrad@iu.edu.
