Applications for O'Neill's graduate programs are processed on a year-round basis for admission in any academic semester. Each application to O'Neill's graduate programs is carefully evaluated by the admissions committee for the appropriate degree. Admission to O'Neill's graduate programs is competitive. Admission Requirements
Admission Requirements
Minimum preferred requirements for admission include:
- A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university with a grade point average of B+ (3.2) or higher
- Apply online
- All transcripts for work that was done outside of the Indiana University system*
- A resume*
- A personal statement*
- Three (3) letters of recommendation*
If your GPA is lower than 3.2, you can request a waiver of GPA requirement in one of three ways:
- If you have at least 2 years of relevant work experience;
- By submitting official test scores from the GRE, GMAT, or LSAT that meet the following criteria:
- A combined score of 300 or more (verbal and quantitative) on the GRE or
- A total score of 500 or higher on the GMAT or
- A total score of 150 or higher on the LSAT
O'Neill considers results from the GRE, GMAT or LSAT, but the GRE (http://www.ets.org/gre) is the most common among our applicants. Preparing to take the test and getting official test scores can be a lengthy process, so plan accordingly.
- If you have already earned a Master's degree from an accredited college or university in the United States or if you have completed at least three classes towards an O'Neill graduate certificate with a 3.5 GPA or higher

Although not required for admission, students applying for the MPA are strongly encouraged to complete MATH-M 110 or higher (algebra), ECON-E 201 (microeconomics) and SPEA-K 300 (statistics) or equivalent courses prior to taking SPEA-V 506 and SPEA-V 517.
