  • BUS-R 305 Introduction to Real Estate Analysis (3 cr.) P: Kelley admit. This course provides a broad introduction to real estate topics, including real estate law, mortgage finance, brokerage, appraisal and investment analysis. Analytical techniques emphasized within this course are directly applicable to real estate, finance and accounting careers, while also providing exposure to skills supportive of property ownership and investment.  OFFERED IN THE SPRING SEMESTER
  • BUS-R 440 Real Estate Appraisals (3 cr.) P: F371 or F374 (with a C or higher), Kelley admit. Income property appraisal concepts and analytical techniques are emphasized in this course, with expanded content applicable to a broad range of finance, accounting and consulting skills.  Exposure to valuation methods supports professional appraisal career placement opportunities, as well as techniques common to many investment, banking and accounting functions.  OFFERED IN THE SUMMER
  • BUS-R 443 Real Estate Finance and Investment Analysis (3 cr.) P: F371 or F374 (with a C or higher), Kelley admit. Application of financial concepts and techniques to the analysis of real estate financing and investment alternatives. This course includes core concepts in financing mechanisms, after-tax real estate investment analysis, discounted cash flow techniques and market analysis.  Significant exposure is provided to current real estate market attributes, culminating in the application of a comprehensive real estate investment analysis project.  OFFERED IN THE FALL SEMESTER
  • BUS-R 490 Independent Study in Real Estate and Land Economics (1-3 cr.) P: I-CORE ( with C or higher in each course) and consent of undergraduate program chairperson and instructor. Supervised individual study and research in student’s special field of interest. The student will propose the investigation desired and, in conjunction with the instructor, develop the scope of work to be completed. Comprehensive written report required.
