Pre-Dental Hygiene track
Students interested in dental hygiene should enroll in the Bachelor of Health Sciences at IU Kokomo. By selecting appropriate elective courses, students can then complete the admission requirements for the B.S. in Dental Hygiene available on other campuses. Students are advised to consult with their academic advisors, faculty members, and appropriate program websites regarding admission requirements including courses, required grades, and other admission requirements.
Students must complete:
- the core requirements of the B.S. in Health Sciences (38 cr.)
- one of the Health Sciences concentrations (Health Education and Promotion or Exercise and Sport Science)
- The IU Kokomo general education requirements
In addition, students must complete the following courses as part of the pre-dental hygiene track:
- ANAT-A 215 Anatomy and lab (5 cr.) (part of the Health Sciences B.S. core requirements)
- CHEM-C 109/129 Intro Chemistry for Health and Nursing (5 cr.)* or
- CHEM-C 101/121 Elementary Chemistry I (5 cr.)* AND
- CHEM-C 102/122 Elementary Chemistry II (5 cr.)
