Bachelor of Science in Informatics
To graduate with the B.S. in Informatics, you must complete a total of 120 semester credit hours, broken down as follows.

An area of specialization is an integrated program of courses concentrating on the applications – and impact – of informatics within the context of another discipline. Choosing an area of specialization is required, and you may select from virtually any IU Indianapolis program to best customize your degree to your career interests. From there, you’ll complete specialized, hands-on courses that give you the tools and techniques needed as a future computing and technology professional. This includes completion of a capstone project during your senior year.
The capstone represents the culmination of your skills and knowledge within informatics and your chosen area of specialization. It may take the form of a thesis, a research project, a for-credit internship or an applied learning project to develop an information system.
