Minor in East Asian Languages
Requirements

Students may minor in Chinese, Japanese, or Korean language. A minimum of 15 credit hours is required for the minor, and must include 9 credit hours at the 300–400 level from a combination of language and culture classes, distributed as follows:

  1. Completion of the third year or higher in the chosen language.
  2. Remaining credit hours may be met by further study in the chosen language or related culture coursework from the East Asian Culture Courses list.
  3. At least 6 credit hours must be completed in coursework within the Department of East Asian Languages and Cultures (excluding special credit).

Note: Students can receive only one minor in the Department of East Asian Languages and Cultures and may not receive both a major and a minor within the department. In fulfilling the above requirements, students must also meet all other College requirements for minors.
