As of July 1, 2015, the Film and Media Studies faculty from the Department of Communication and Culture joined with the faculty from the Department of Journalism and the Department of Telecommunications to form the faculty of the The Media School in the College of Arts and Sciences. Continuing students have a number of options:

• Complete the degree objectives formerly offered by the Department of Telecommunications as published in the applicable College of Arts and Sciences Bulletin,
• Choose to adopt the requirements offered through The Media School, including the B.A. in Media, the Bachelor of Arts in Journalism, the B.S. in Game Design and seven minors for students pursuing primary degrees in other disciplines.
