Art History Honors Program
The honors program in art history is designed to provide outstanding students with opportunities to pursue independent study and research. Admission to the program is by application, typically during the spring semester of the junior year. To be considered, a student must have a minimum GPA of 3.500 in art history and a minimum 3.300 GPA overall. Eligible and interested students should consult the director of undergraduate studies.
The honors program includes a two-course sequence, ARTH-A 400 Senior Seminar (3 cr.) and ARTH-A 499 Senior Honors Thesis (3 cr.), taken during the senior year. To graduate with honors in art history, a student must earn an A– or higher in both courses and must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.500 in art history and a minimum GPA of 3.300 overall.
