About the Center for Online Education
IU South Bend offers several online and hybrid/blended courses for undergraduate, graduate, and certificate programs. Admission to the university is required. Tuition is the same for classes held on campus. There is an additional fee for online and hybrid/blended courses. Throughout the year, new courses are developed with several offered every semester.
Students interested in taking online and hybrid/blended courses can visit https://www.iusb.edu/distance-learning/students/courses.php for information about
- course schedules
- searching for courses
- frequently asked questions
Additional information for prospective and current students, and those new to online can be found at https://www.iusb.edu/distance-learning/students/index.php Course descriptions and requirements are posted by the instructor in One.IU.
Students are strongly encouraged to take the IU-Ready Student Readiness Survey. IU-Ready is a self-assessment meant to help students understand what is required/expected, as well as what they can expect from an online or hybrid/blended course and the instructor.
For online courses, students can complete course requirements at their own pace offsite; however, there are mandatory deadlines for each course (submitting assignments, taking exams, etc.). For hybrid/blended courses, students are required to attend classes on campus during assigned dates and complete course requirements online.
Visit the Center for Online Education for more information about online education at IU South Bend.
