Here, Wheatstone’s bridge is attached with an oscillator ‘0. Pis a suitable indicator (a head phone or other electric device). When no electric current flows in indicator then bridge is balanced.

So, Unknown resistance (R_{2})= \(\frac{R_{1} \times R_{4}}{R_{3}}\)

→ So, if we know R then we can also determine cell constant. We know that there is difference in conductivity of solutions of various electrolytes in one solvent and at same temperature and this difference is due to change of ions formed as a result of decomposition and due to difference in facility of conduction of ion with its concentration or potential gradient.
