History
As part of the institutional efforts to provide one portal of entry to the multiple degree units and to support student success, the IUPUI Faculty Council approved the formation of
University College in spring 1997. The founding faculty (representing all degree-granting schools at IUPUI) and the dean were appointed soon thereafter, with the first students entering the college in summer 1998. The founding faculty approved the mission statement that is still used today.
