MHC Admissions
Applying to the M.A. in Mental Health Counseling program
If you are ready to begin the IUPUC Mental Health Counseling program, the first step is to apply for admission.
Eligibility
To be admitted to the program, you must have an undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university with a minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. In addition, you must be proficient in English and possess at least 15 undergraduate credits in psychology or behavioral science courses.
The application materials and information required for admission consideration are:
- Completed Mental Health Counseling graduate admission application form.
- Official transcripts for undergraduate and graduate courses or degrees completed at accredited institutions.
- Official Graduate Record Examination (GRE) scores on the verbal, quantitative, and analytical writing sections.
- Three (3) letters of recommendation from persons qualified to evaluate your academic performance, professional behavior, and personal character.
- Two (2) reflective essays (refer to application instructions)
- Required application fee.
- Personal interview with the Mental Health Counseling faculty.
Application Deadlines: December 1st (Early Decision) and February 1st.
