RN to BSN Completion Track (hybrid)

(For students who are licensed Registered Nurses who graduated from an associate degree or diploma program). This degree completion curriculum offers you the opportunity to earn the BSN in a convenient manner with a curriculum designed for the working professional. For program information, contact Program Director Stephanie Pratt, DNP, RN, at 765.455.9250 or

In the RN to BSN, two tracks are offered, a fully online RNBSN and a Hybrid RNBSN track.

About the Hybrid RN BSN Track: This track offers the RN the opportunity to complete the degree partially online, but with weekly course meetings with like-minded peers. Courses are held one day per week and students progress through the curriculum as a group in a cohort model (classes are late afternoon-evening) and may be held at IUK or at a local hospital. Each week there is some online work, and a  live course meeting, promoting networking and support.

Students do have clinical requirements. Students either complete the statewide gen ed core prior to admission or complete IU Kokomo's general education core.

Hybrid RN-BSN Core Course Requirements:

All RN to BSN students must meet the general education requirements that are associated with their track for graduation. Depending on your individual plan of study, these requirements may be met before you begin nursing major courses or a limited number of credits may be placed throughout the entire curriculum. Consult with an advisor for a plan that meets your needs.

The TSAP curriculum plan is available on the IU Kokomo website, as well. The plan of study will allow the completion of the BSN in two years. The curriculum is the same as the other opportunities for RN to BSN completion.

  • NURS-B 331 Transition to Baccalaureate Nursing Practice (3 cr. ) Must be taken first, regardless of track.
