Spanish Minor
Spanish is one of the most-widely spoken languages in the world. Students who combine the Spanish Minor with their main area of study enhance their career opportunities in fields that benefit from the study of Spanish such as teaching, health care, social work, international business, travel, hospitality, communications. The Spanish minor also prepares students for study abroad and/or graduate and professional programs, as well as provides students with a unique perspective on the Spanish language and its many diverse cultures. Other benefits include a greater awareness and participation in a multicultural world and being able to communicate effectively when traveling and learning in foreign countries.
The Spanish Minor consists of 12 credit hours. Other elective courses may be added to this list; consult the Spanish Minor coordinator, a faculty member in Spanish, or an academic advisor for more information. SPAN-S 325 may not be used to satisfy more than one category (required or electives). Students are required to take a minimum of 9 credit hours on the IU Kokomo campus.
