Accreditation & Licenses
Since 1952, Herron School of Art and Design has been accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD). The music technology and music therapy programs have been accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music since 2011. As a school of Indiana University Indianapolis, Herron is also accredited as a school of Indiana University by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools(HLC) and by the Teacher Training Licensing Commission of the Indiana State Board of Education. The Master of Arts in art therapy program at Herron School of Art and Design at IU Indianapolis is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) upon the recommendation of the Accreditation Council for Art Therapy Education (ACATE). Herron's degree programs in music therapy are approved by the American Music Therapy Association(AMTA).
