Admissions Dental Assisting Certificate

Admission to the dental assisting program is limited to 20 students per year. To be accepted into the program you must do the following:

  1. Be accepted by IUFW
  2. Submit a separate dental assisting application
  3. Have at least 2 courses in English and 2 courses in Life Sciences in high school and/or college
  4. Make an appointment with a Dental Assisting department advisor (Mandatory)
  5. Bring copies of all OFFICIAL high school and collage (if applicable) transcripts to advising meeting
  6. Complete observation term available on website

Application Deadline

Your acceptance into the program is based on timely completion of all requirements.

The Certified Dental Assisting program application and two observation forms must be completed and received by June 15 prior to the fall term in which you wish to enter. The number of eligible applicants each year greatly exceeds the number of spaces available.

Applications received after the June 15 deadline will be considered on a space available basis only. 

Before Admission into the program:  

  • A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0/4.0 is required to be eligible for entrance into the dental assisting program.
  • All immunizations required by IUSD.
