General Requirements for Bachelor's Degrees

Keyboard Proficiency

All music bachelor’s students (except audio engineering and sound production and ballet) must demonstrate keyboard proficiency. Keyboard proficiency is defined as the ability to use the keyboard or equivalent instrument as a tool within the framework of individual professional activities; thus, the requirements vary in emphasis according to the area of major study. Students must follow the keyboard requirements described under each bachelor’s degree. Information regarding specific keyboard proficiency requirements for each major is available in the Music Undergraduate Office and at https://intranet.music.indiana.edu/departments/academic/piano/secondary-piano/.
