Comparative Literature
Introduction
The curriculum of the Department of Comparative Literature (CMLT) introduces students to the study of literature in different ages and across national, linguistic, and cultural boundaries. Courses explore texts, themes, literary types, and intercultural relations as well as the methods and theories of comparative literary study. Courses also investigate relationships between literature and the visual arts, film, music, and other performance arts as well as other disciplines such as philosophy, history, and religious and cultural studies.
