    This course will explore how to create a culture of giving within the higher education and student affairs environment.     The IR capstone course provides students with a scholarly understanding of institutional research as well as the skills and abilities required of IR practitioners. It is a project-based course in which students complete a series of projects and produce an electronic portfolio that documents how their skills and knowledge related to the practice of institutional research have developed through course work and applied research experiences.

    Course examines philanthropy within the history of higher education in the U.S. Readings will introduce some classic works so that philanthropy is understood in terms of historical, social, economic, and political factors which have shaped colleges and universities over more than three centuries.level.

    Individual research or study with a Higher Education faculty member, arranged in advance of registration.     Access and equity across the academic pipeline will be considered (e.g. undergraduate, graduate students, faculty to administrators).
