Career Resources

The Career Development Center utilizes a variety of career exploration tools, resources and assessments to assist students in the career planning process. Some of these resources are:

  • Focus2, an online interactive, self-guided career and education planning system designed to help students with career goals and educational plans.  Focus2 provides career information regarding educational requirements, employment outlook, salaries, related college and major information related to careers.
  • The Vault Online Career Library contains thousands of resources including career guides, company information, industry research, career advice, videos and much more.
  • The Strong Interest Inventory and The DoWhatYouAre career assessments are two powerful resources that are utilized to help students make satisfying career decisions.
  • Candid Career is a premier provider of thousands of informational video interviews with real professionals through an easy to use website. All students can learn from the experiences of others. Candid Career is dedicated to providing the inside scoop on careers so students will be informed and ready for what lies ahead.
  • iConnect is an on-line directory of professionals who are willing to meet with students to share career-related information and assist students in the career planning process.
  • Business First is an online weekly business publications focusing on business in the greater Louisville and southern Indiana area. This is a "must read" for anyone who wants to work in this geographic area. Articles focus on business, industries, and people making news.
  • The Occupational Outlook Handbook and the ONet are two valuable internet resources that provides students with additional career related information from the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

These licensed and password-protected programs are available to all students, graduates, faculty and staff of IU Southeast and are easily accessed through the CareerLink database found at www.ius.edu/career/
