At the time of graduation, students will be able to:

  1. Basic networking concepts used in the clinical environment connecting medical devices.
  2. Generalized security concepts for networks and computer systems.
  3. Security measures and communication protocols as applied to the clinical setting.
  4. Rudimentary and complex networking topologies including construction and simulated failures as applied to medical devices in the clinical setting.
  5. HIPAA data recovery requirements utilizing sample patient data.
  6. Assessment of medical device cybersecurity threats and risks in the clinical setting, and security planning specific to the technologies of individual medical devices.
  7. Policy planning, threat detection, evaluation and testing associated with healthcare networked medical devices utilized for patient care.
