Master of Jurisprudence (M.J.) Program
This new degree (subject to ABA acquiescence) is designed for individuals interested in developing a better understanding of the law as it affects their professional career goals. This degree is for those who do not wish to practice law or earn a J.D. degree.
The M.J. program is a 30 credit hour program that may be taken on a full-time or part-time basis. You will create your own individualized curriculum that best suits your needs based on your area of interest.
Each M.J. candidate will receive one-on-one assistance from a faculty advisor who will help you select the most suitable courses for your degree.
There are no specific admissions deadlines; admissions are decided on a rolling basis.

Joint Degree and LL.M. ProgramsIn conjunction with the IU Schools of Medicine, Business, Public and Environmental Affairs, Public Health, Library and Information Science, Liberal Arts and Social Work. You can earn a J.D. and a degreein another field in less time than it would take to earn the degrees independently. Joint degrees include:
- J.D. and Master of Business Administration
- J.D. and Master of Public Affairs
- J.D. and Master of Public Health
- J.D. and Master of Science in Health Administration
- J.D. and Master of Library Science
- J.D. and Master of Social Work
- J.D. and Master of Philosophy (with a concentration in health law and bioethics)
- J.D. and Doctor of Medicine
