Student Learning Outcomes
Doctor of Philosophy in Dental Science (Ph.D.)
The graduate of the Ph.D. program will be prepared to:
- demonstrate an in-depth understanding of the biology of the oral cavity;
- demonstrate the principles/mechanisms pertinent to human physiology and disease;
- demonstrate competency in performing complex scientific literature searches;
- write a detailed grant proposal;
- express scientific material, including original research data, in both oral and written form;
- demonstrate skills in critical thinking; and
- plan and undertake independent research.
