Master of Science in Education, Educational Technology for Learning Online Consortium

The IU Online Master of Science in Education (MSEd) in Educational Technology for Learning will engage you in a technology-infused curriculum that requires you to use and evaluate a wide variety of digital tools used in educational environments. As a student in the program, you will consider how you can teach differently in today's technology-enhanced environments. You will develop new technology skill sets and be able to determine which technologies to apply in order to achieve your pedagogical goals.

The MSEd in Educational Technology for Learning curriculum connects theory to practice, preparing you to design learning experiences that promote creativity and active learning through the integration of digital tools.
Your IU Online MSEd in Educational Technology for Learning prepares you for careers in the K12 sector such as:
- Technology coach or specialist

This 100 percent online, consortial program is taught by IU Bloomington, IU East, IUPUI, IU Kokomo, IU South Bend, and IU Southeast. This consortial model allows you to take coursework from several campuses and learn from a wide range of faculty.
MSEd Requirements
To earn the degree students will complete twelve courses for 36 overall credit hours. The required courses fall into the following four categories:
Requirements are broken down as follows:
I. Foundations coursework - three courses (9 cr.)
1. Instruction in the Curriculum
- EDUC-J 500 Instruction in the Context of the Curriculum (3 cr.)
2. Assessment
- EDUC-P 507 Assessment in Schools (3 cr.)
3. Diversity and Inclusive Teaching (complete one of the following)
- EDUC-H 520 Social Issues in Education (3 cr.)
- EDUC-J 511 Differentiated Instruction (3 cr.)
- EDUC-T 531 Organizational Change in Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Schools (3 cr.)
II. Inquiry and Research - three courses (9 cr.)
- EDUC-Y 510 Research and Technology in Schools or Action Research 1 (3 cr.)
- EDUC-Y 520 Strategies for Education Inquiry (3 cr.)
- EDUC-W 590 Individual Research in Computer Education – Capstone (3 cr.)
**Students should plan to complete W590 in their final semester of enrollment.
III. Technology in Education Core - four courses (12 cr.)
