Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action

Indiana University–Fort Wayne pledges to continue its commitment to achieving equal opportunity within the university and throughout American society. Specifically, our policy at IUFW prohibits discrimination based on arbitrary considerations such as race, color, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, marital status, age, disability, or veteran status. IUFW will make every effort to recruit, hire, promote, educate, and provide services to persons based solely on their individual qualifications. Further, we will take affirmative action to overcome the discriminatory effects of traditional practices with regard to people with disabilities, minorities, women, and Vietnam-era veterans.

Our institutional ethic demands that we foster the best possible environment for doing our work as educators, learners, and supporters of the educational process. Therefore, IUFW does not tolerate discriminatory harassment or intimidation of students, employees, or guests of the university, and responds to complaints of such treatment, providing proper remediation when harassment is determined to have occurred.

No qualified individual with a disability shall, by reason of such disability, be excluded from participation in or denied the benefits of university services, programs, or activities. Reasonable accommodations shall be afforded to the known physical or mental limitations of otherwise qualified individuals.

Questions, concerns, or complaints regarding IUFW policy and practice with respect to discrimination or harassment may be directed to (317) 274-2306, TDD: (317) 278-2200, e-mail: oeoiupui@iupui.edu.
