Second Bachelor's Degree

There are two types of second degrees: concurrent and sequential. A concurrent degree is one earned simultaneously with a first degree. A sequential degree is one earned subsequent to a first degree (at IUB or elsewhere).

Students interested in pursuing a concurrent second degree must meet the School of Public Health’s entrance requirements. Questions about pursuing a concurrent degree should be directed to sphadvr@indiana.edu. If you are a current School of Public Health student and want to complete a concurrent degree in another IU school, you should meet with an academic advisor from that school to learn more.

Students interested in pursuing a sequential bachelor’s degree are first encouraged to explore graduate work in their desired area of interest. Sequential bachelor’s degree requests are evaluated by faculty on a case-by-case basis. Questions about pursuing a sequential degree should be directed to sphgrad@indiana.edu.
