Introduction

While the Department of Second Language Studies does not offer a bachelor's degree or certificate, course work aimed at improving English language proficiency is available for nonnative speakers of English. Consult the department for additional Second Language Studies course information.

Course Descriptions

T100 Intensive English Program (0 cr.) The Intensive English Program provides full-time instruction at the beginning and intermediate levels. These are seven-week courses.

T101 English Language Improvement (1-12 cr.) Designed for the international student who needs instruction in English as a second language. The English Language Improvement Program provides part-time intermediate and advanced instruction for undergraduate and graduate students already admitted to Indiana University. Credit hours, though counting toward full-time student status, do not accrue toward the total number required for a degree. These are eight-week courses.
