Approved Courses Outside the College of Arts and Sciences

A candidate for a bachelor's degree in the College of Arts and Sciences must satisfactorily complete a minimum of 100 credit hours in courses offered by the College. School of Music courses in history, literature, composition, and theory of music may be counted among the 100 credit hours inside the College of Arts and Sciences.

Students may select the remaining 22 credit hours from courses in the College of Arts and Sciences and/or from the list of approved courses below. Students also have the option of including in these 22 credit hours up to 10 credit hours of courses not listed below from other degree-granting schools of the university. The College will not accept engineering, technology, or self-acquired competency credit.

Students satisfying requirements for a teaching certificate may take a maximum of 29 credit hours outside the College if the courses are selected from the School of Education section in the list below.
