Division of Labor Studies 2004-2006 Academic Bulletin
|Welcome to the Division of Labor Studies at Indiana University!|
Through this bulletin, we invite you to explore the Division of Labor Studies (DLS), a leader in a unique field that seeks to strengthen the rights of working people. We provide dynamic, innovative instruction and enjoy national acclaim as the largest worker-centered, university-based program in the United States. We have an outstanding faculty who provide year-round instruction throughout the state of Indiana and the nation.
In addition to our degree programs, the DLS offers numerous noncredit courses, tailored to meet the specific needs of union members and leaders. We annually host several statewide events, including conferences on organizing, labor law, and arbitration, as well as a summer school for women in unions. In order to reach students who are not available to take credit courses in the traditional face-to-face setting, we now offer our courses online. We are the only university in the nation that offers complete online degree programs in this field.
We're proud of our graduates, most of whom enjoy rewarding careers as labor leaders and advocates for social change. Whether you're enrolling in a single class with us or charting your course as a DLS major, I trust you'll be inspired by the excellence of our faculty as you read this bulletin. I wish you every success in your academic pursuits.
