Social Studies Teaching Major

Teaching major requirements are fulfilled by completing a minimum of 41 credit hours in Social Studies. A minimum GPA of 2.5 in the teaching major is required (with no grade less than a C in the teaching major). The IU Kokomo Teacher Education Program requires that Historical Perspectives and Government and Citizenship be the licensure areas. Student may want to choose a minor in either Sociology, Psychology, or Economics to add an additional licensure area. The minor will be additional credit hours.
