All School of Informatics and Computing doctoral students are required to complete either a minor within the school or an approved minor outside the school. Internal and external minors should be appropriate to the student’s research as determined by the student’s advisory committee.
Informatics and Computing Minors
The following minors are available to informatics and computer science Ph.D. candidates as well as students outside the school.
Some appropriate external minors include biology, chemistry, physics, cognitive science, history and philosophy of science, information science, law, sociology, and learning sciences. In all cases, the number of hours to be included in the minor is consistent with the requirements of the unit granting the minor.
