Department of Radiation Oncology

  • RT 700 Elective in Radiation Oncology (arr. hrs.) (arr. cr.) Electives in radiation oncology are offered for students considering specialty training in surgery, gynecology, otorhinolaryngology, pediatrics, radiology, internal medicine, and family practice, as well as radiation oncology and medicine subspecialties of hematology and medical oncology. The medical student is introduced to diagnosis, staging, prognosis, evaluation, and treatment by radiation of patients with neoplastic disease. Specific information on each elective is available in the Elective Program Course Listing, which is updated and published each year. These electives are offered at the IU Health University, Methodist, and West hospitals, at the Indianapolis Veteran Administration Medical Center, and at the IU Health Proton Therapy Center in Bloomington.
